One time for my mother on Mothers day. I lost my mother when I was in the sixth grade due to titty cancer (breast cancer) I say titty cancer to kind of change the mood and not make things seem so sad. That has just been my character.
Her name was Jackie and she was raised in Jamaica. Met my so called father (lol) here in the states who is also Jamaican (hmmmm, jamaican fathers...lol) and I was conceived on June 28th!! chea!! The best damn baby eva!! lol!! But yea I tribute this blog topic to her!!
She was a nurse for a good part in her life and then went back to school for her GED and then went to Cosmetology school and got her degree in Cosmetology. She worked at Tammie's hair salon in Miami Florida.
She was a fighter and taught that "Manners takes you through the world." I am a little rude now...lol! But, I never forgot this quote she told me. She loved me and only wanted the best for me as a youngster.
She was a fighter and fought every day till her very last day and I love her and will NEVER EVER EVA FORGET HER!! Thank you for being the PILLAR that holds my very life together! I will be a great husband to a lovely young lady as you told me I would. I will love them on the level that I love you and treat em like a princess because of course no one can get treated like you Queen...lol! But, I digress! Love you mom, your mommy bush bush is growing to be quite the dapper young man and thinks of you all the time! Deuces mama!
A song for my mother and mothers everywhere...I was in an old school mood today, so it was funny that I found this song on someones facebook page...but enjoy!
PS: I told myself that if I have a girl I would name her Jackie. And I will tell my daughter it means strength and wisdom. Jackie was a warrior that conquered as many obstacles in her life. She did not let the small things get her down and committed selfless acts of kindness for the people she loved. Jackie stands for beauty and strength, courage and knowledge. It means A woman who walks with an artistic presence and noticeable elegance. And I wll let her know that this named belonged to her Grandmother, my mother, and that she should cherish it and be as great as her grandmother once was and always will be. If I have a son, we will just switch things up to something more manly! lmao!! Peace!
Deep! I feel u cuzzo. The Intruders song is #2 only to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mecNrIaWOA I dunno if it made its way to Jamaica though, but it's on the all time #1 list in Africa. To all the great moms, urs & mine included, on mothers day.
