If you could change one thing about the world what would it be? Poverty, Racism, Hate, Taxes, bad breath, television watching...whatever comes to your mind...speak on it...
the unequal distribution of wealth and resources. it blows my mind how .000001 of the worlds population own more that 98% or the worlds resources. i believe in the saying, live simply so others can simply live. thats from the heart
I think I would change the way the media runs the world! It changes trends, feelings, life, day and night...the media controls us in every way shape or form. I wish I could just remove the persuasive factors that it holds negatively over certain things...like weight gain, beauty and things of that nature.
These skinny jeans that always these dudes be wearing!! I so wish we could rid of that shit! These dudes look quite fruitastik in them and I do not understand there purpose to have the imprint of ur balls all over the eyes of the world...lame lame lame!
I would take away a person's ability to severely hurt someone else. Everyone needs a little bit of hurt to be able to see the good but severely hurting someone is pointless because some people don't have the ability to recover.
One thing I would honestly want to change is the exorbitant amount of money that entertainers (certain mainstream musicians/athletes) earn. When you have a scientist or teacher or even a personal trainer actually changing lives and making contributions towards a better world making peanuts, it speaks volumes about where our priorities are.
I can also agree with athletes and celebrities getting paid entirely too much while the people who need it the most are struggling from check to check! it is crazy the things that happens in the world today! Soulja Boy gets millions for tellin kids to throw some d's on their report card and the hard working blue collar families struggle to put the next meal on the table...sigh!
My dream since 7th grade was to become an engineer. In high school I took a cruise with my family to Mexico and saw how poorly the housing conditions were. I have this image of the street we turned on engraved in my mind. From that point I knew I needed to pursue an engineering degree that would allow me the opportunity to end the substandard housing conditions. I actually feel like it is my purpose. I recently went to Washington DC and met the head engineer with the US Dept of Housing and Urban Development. I'm so excited because he wants me to meet the Secretary of Housing... The guy who reports to Obama!! It is the chance of a lifetime. I haven't been able to tell people only because I don't want to seem arrogant. But I hope to be able to change the world with whatever I do.
Well, on a lighter note!! If I could remove something from the world it would be definitely Women with ugly feet who have the NERVE!!!! to walk around with open toes shoes!!! They should all be shipped to a small island where them and all they ugly feet can realize how ugly they are!! Women be pullin da foolishness!! Foot draggin off, something leaning, etc. etc. Sillyness!! that is a random note I am sure I will have more to say of certain things to remove...
Lol, you are so rude for that, but I understand, because as a woman I feel that I should always be on point and if something is not on point then it will not be disclosed for someone to notice.
If I would change something in the world, I would want everyone to have accessible health care insurance or access to a facility where they can get looked at, even the poor should be able to have somewhere to go to be able to get checked out. There are too many people sick because of the lack of health care. Providing help to others in order for them to live another day, is something that should not be voted on, it should be a right.
I also agree with solving world hunger, because that is also a major problem for the world today.
My original response to this would be to remove greed. I think that people's greed and "paper chase" causes a lot of problems in the world. If people were less selfish and over-indulging, I think it would change a lot of things. I think getting rid of greed is the budding of selflessness and people would be able to help and give more to others, and not just in a monetary, material sense.
But then I started thinking about the topic more, and I'm not sure that I would change a lot. What is light without dark to compare to? What is happiness without sadness? The state of the world is not perfect, but I think we need a balance of "good and bad." Yin and yang. If the world were perfect, the tiniest imperfections would then be magnified in order to maintain the balance. just some thoughts.
A lot of you all are talking about changing the foundation of the American Way, which is capitalism. Souljah boy was a broke ass nigga just like the rest of us, yet through simple supply and demand economics he has created millions for himself. Without that, man I think the world would be a sad place. Its not like he's just "getting money"...everyone has market value.
Anywho, I'd change the ignorance that is so prevalent within the black community regarding just little things. Niggas think they are destined for poverty, when in reality you can go from Miami Dade Community College to the University fo Florida...in a year if you really work hard. The general education system within "our" community is piss poor. Im from the suburbs, and there is just so many more things That I was exposed to that added to my overall intelligence in school, programs etc etc. Its sad, the system leaves behind so many. :(
to keep a long drawn out response short, racism has caused (in my opinion) all the other disparities within our society...
also...lump colorism in there with racism. It doesn't just happen in the black community. I know it happens in the Indian (from India..not Native American) culture as well.
Hmmmm. If I could change anything,I think I would like the lack of compassion in the world to be addressed. I feel if people could understand the circumstances of others, they wouldn't be so quick to disregard or screw-over individuals affected by their choices.
Conversely, I would also be very much relieved if there were more dreds in Jamaica than in Miami goonin around... It's getting a little absurd now, the hairstyle is becoming disassociated with Rastafari. RAHTIID! =o)
My take will be to add true empathy and love - What Larry said has some merit to it. If we lived in a Utopian society our appreciation and wealth of experiences will definitely be skewed.
But with that being said if people empathized,ie the rich of the situation of the poor, the healthy of the situation of the sick and afflicted, the privilege of the disadvantaged; it would only take little effort from the majority to make a great difference. Versus the great effort of the minority to have a huge impact.
If there was truly love you would not discriminate based on color, skin tone, socio-economic status, nationality or even ideology, you would embrace people for who they are. That would eliminate all man-made ills in society (aka Iraq war, slavery, racial/socio economic discrimination) and then for the natural disasters, (aka Katrina & Hurricanes/Flooding in Haiti) you'd actually have everyone (not the select few altruistic beings) pitching in to help their fellow mankind. That would not be Utopia because of natural disasters and diseases but it would definitely be a better world to live in.
one thing
ReplyDeleteum...
maybe racism
i think its stupid
and really serves no purpose
we are all the same no matter what shade
And I am not perfect I get trapped in the concepts and feelings of racism and stuff...I try to do better...but, its just a horrible thing ya know...
the unequal distribution of wealth and resources. it blows my mind how .000001 of the worlds population own more that 98% or the worlds resources. i believe in the saying, live simply so others can simply live. thats from the heart
