I really do not know where to begin tonight ladies and gentlemen. THE HAM, THE HAM, THE HAM, THAT WAS BET!! LIKE this was a crazy friggin night!! Where do I begin!??! First off, I will say that it was probably mad difficult putting on this show with the weight of the world wanting an MJ TRIBUTE! I mean he passed away a couple days ago...I feel like they could have still done something decent for MJ...others may feel like they did not have enough time. And changing a huge show like that, a couple days before hand must have been killer...okay...waa waa...now, I am done being nice!!! But, then again, BET has had a lot of whack awards show...Especially the one where it was in MIAMI!! like, no one showed up!! n e who....
WHAT THE FLIPPIN, JUMPIN, FLYIN, RATATOUILE WAS THIS AWARDS SHOW ABOUT!!!?!?! LIKE REALLY!?!? REALLY!?!? So I was at dinner for the first half of the performance but I heard New EDITION opened up the show and that was HOT GARBAGIO!!! Wait, wait, WHERE THE HELL WAS THE NOMINEES!! I Didn't know if they were announcing awards for BEST NEW RAPPER OR ARTIST OF THE YEAR!!! Like, I understand you were pressed for time but you had to get rid of the NOMINEES!! That is why I watch this show other than the performances (which were a bunch of HAM!)
Beyonce's performance I heard was really really trash!! Like, your videos have now all become a 3 woman show...so life can not be hard when it comes to your dance routines! But, that is not the point...I heard Beyonce performed some super random whack ish!! Beyonce is a performer and she is sexy as shit, so I am not knocking her beauty and talent cause I would knock the BOMBASTIK out that muther muther! But whatever that was only the beginning...
I heard Ciara's performance was quite the trash as well!! Did not see much of it to give you an accurate description of it!
PAUSE: THIS DAMN TINY AND TOYA SHOW HAS NOT AIRED YET...BUT, I DO OFFICIALLY HATE THE SHOW!! ARGH!!! Like these CELEBRITIES be having some lame a** wives like...Tiny bruh?!?!? Come on you telling me you cant get a badder chick than that!
I gotta watch the re runs so I can see the Martin Lawrence and Jamie Foxx skit!! I heard that was down right hilarious...
Trey songz did not really come to perform tonight either! He didnt murk that performance like he could have!! But, I did hear that Jamie's Blame It performance was pretty fire!! By the time I came in...it was around the She got her own...which I will say that CHICK who was dancing was that heat rock! DID U SEE THE LEG RAISE?!??! OH BABY!!! But, NE-YO DONT YOU EEEEEVVVVVVEEEEERRRR BRING THAT EGG HEAD OUT ON THE STREETS AND THINK THE PEOPLE WILL NOT CALL YOU OUT!! You looked like a sick turtle!!!
I heard the turn my swag on performance was good...but, I just can not take soulja boy seriously...lol! I heard there was a big bed on stage...lol! which makes a lot of sense, but, still...But, the performance of the Night will go to BBD!! one time for the old school heads who really showed people how to do a performance! Sad day!!! THEY ACTUALLY TOOK THE TWITTER WORLD BACK A BIT!!! Hotness, like that Poison song is just fire!! It really had me doing the RUNNING MAN IN MY ROOM!! It was good seing Kanye on the side jamming to the old school music!! He was spazzin out! And I am sure he really does appreciate these old school artist who obviously plays a big role in his music today! Da boi Lebron was jammin as well during the old school session! So that was whats up!!
Monica and Keyshia Cole's performance was pretty decent! Monica shined on Keyshia lol! Her vocals were on point! And Keyshia can really get it!! Like I would lick her tattoos!! Did I mention Ne-Yo should never go anywhere without his hat!! I am sorry I am all over the place but this show was crazy!! And I was confused about who was getting the Humanitarian award but that cleared up real quick lol! But Wyclef Jean did say "PWAJECTS" which was down right HILARIOUS!! But, "he went from a hut, to the Pwajects, to a mansion so there is no excuse" And I really could not be mad at him for that statement. And Alicia Keys is such a beautiful and eloquent woman all around. She goes up there with Michelle Obama as far as being the "epitome of a woman" in my book! Eff what you heard!!
Now on to more foolishness...Okay, the baby boy skit was real cool until...the Guns and Butter part!! Like are you serious guys?!?! Really??!?!? The Guns is Michael, The guns is BET, and the Butter is the other (HOLD ON BRACE YOURSELF) B**** A*** NETWORK AWARD SHOWS! I could not even repeat the HARSHNESS!! And I can be a straight PIRATE on that cursing tip...But, even I know better than that Mr. Rhames!! I really did not know if there was still a skit going on or if he was serious!
And then the "we like her" performance was quite the JOKE!!! Lil Wayne needs to stop pushing YOUNG MONEY...just focus on Drake and keep it at that! Cause everyone in your camp is not marketable. Sad to say it...but, its the truth! And there were like 13 year old chicks on stage!! Like, I know your boy had a line about in 3 years holla at me Miley Cirrus but still yall did not need to have those young girls on stage to prove that!! So drake tore his acl?!?! like what the hell?!? How many rappers you hear tear their ACL BRUH!?!? Going Hard on dem tracks I guess...no homo! lmao!
The tribute was weak...and Jamie and Ne-Yo apparently were the only singers in the entire building that night...Oh, but let me rewind and say that Please Please do not let Mr. Soul Train Don Cornelius to ever speak at the awards show! Like, talk about BOOOOOOORRRRR-ING!! And then HE CAME BACK AGAIN!!! and it was not really cool to have Levert from Ojays diss him neither! As he grips his awards like a RIFFLE!! Like wtf?!?! But, then it was clear why they cut the nominees cause they knew they had Daddy Cornelius about to talk for an hour and then have him looking at a teleprompter that he can not see!! Sigh...RE-DICULOUS!!
Like, the BET AWARDS was only enjoyable because of the comments from facebook and twitter and the fact that it was my birthday!! lol!! So thanks for the love if you showed me some and It was truly a great day! I dont know what happened tonight! But, it is whatever...I may watch the re-runs or youtube it...I am sure its up and running already! And oh yea TWITTER GOT BIG BOI PROMO TONIGHT!! Chea!!
Oh, last but not least, Jigga's death of autotune video was pretty FRESH!! That might have been another one of the few high lights of the night! Oh well, YALL DROP YALL FEELINGS, THOUGHTS, COMPLAINTS, ETC. ETC. I care to see who else feels the way I do...Love, Peace and Hair Grease!!

The award show was OK, even if MJ didn't pass away, I'm sure it would still look like it was put together in five minutes. Considering the time they had, they did a good job, BUT...the tomfoolery was a HAM. Kids on the stage with Drake and Wayne, Ving Rhames and his dumbass self, the censor people not censoring what they need to. The tribute at then end was very nice, but I think Janet had no intention of showing up until Joe's dumbass did this interview on the red carpet talking about his record label and referring to MJ as an entertainer 1st and his son 2nd. ReplyDeleteThey tried doing so much in so little time. i.e. Have every set of presenters present two awards, skipping the "nominee video" before each award, etc.
A lot of it wasn't coherent. One second New Edition is doing a Jackson 5 number. Then there is a New Jack Swing medley. Then you have the O'Jays. Then you have Soulja Boy turning his sway on. Then Ne-Yo does an MJ song. Then Wayne and Young Money. Randomness!
Soooo, I've got a couple problems with this award show.
ReplyDeleteKeyshia is a beautiful woman and talented singer, but I wanna know wtf was she wearing? It was like a pastel flea market fit. N I'm not really diggin the mullet she was rockin either. I do appreicate Monica coming hard after her hiatus tho.
As far as the various Jackson tributes, i think something needs to be said about who is allowed to pay homage in a public capacity thru replication of performances or the like. Really, in my opinion, Ciara has no business with MJ even on her lips in a performing capacity. She can dance to him, dip it low, make it work, or whatever she's tryna tell ppl to do in the club these days, but shes simply not talented enough all around for me to think she's worthy. Sorry.
If it wasn't for Jamie and Ne-yo, all would be lost for BET honestly. What a mess. I'm almost convinced that the only reason Jante even showed up was because of the expectations on her family to speak to the public in a timely manner. BET as an organization should standing for a noble cause and be the beacon that ppl of color need it to be, but it really only helps to further stereotypes and is a blight on the tv landscape. Im sure Janet would rather have stayed home than watch that collective garbage.
The performers didn't exactly have a tribute up to snuff for the occasion, and I understand the time constraints, but when a challenge comes along, if you as an organization are trying to be socially relevant, you need to step up. Go hard or go home. Clearly the BET awards need to pack it up and leave....
Did you see that hot mess of an interview that Joe Jackson gave on the red carpet????? Didn't even seem like he was upset at all, especially after by passing a question about how his family was doing in order to plug a new business venture of his. It was so ridiculous that it actually got me mad. Im glad Janet came up at the end of the show to share some appropriate words, the words of a family that is actually grieving. No wonder Michael hated him so much. It was such a shame.
ReplyDeleteOkay...let's be honest, anyone giving props to BET for their MJ tribute needs to sit down because any GOOD station that actually had a reputation to uphold wouldn't have tried to change the complete show. A SMART network that does things the correct way would have added a tribute to the end because this whole, try to incorporate MJ in everything was a nice thought, but a sorry effort. It would have been ten times better to get everyone together to do a medley of songs or something because being that MJ is the man that he is, they should know his songs. It was just sloppy.
