Okay I made a few changes...if u noticed great if you didnt keep it moving lol!
I always thought to myself that I just rather be a rock and roll artist because they really can be just as blunt as they want and its understood because its rock and roll.
The song below is the perfect example, while quite catchy it is a bit forward (literally) and you might have heard this being censored at the VMA's as well (if you were wondering where you heard this song before). I will say this song is equally as bad as IF YOU SEEK AMY (if you know what that means). But, why is it looked at as such a bad thing in hip hop when the term "hoe" and other words are used but in rock and roll its not looked down upon...or is it just that I am not in that circle of rock and roll so I really do not know what they like and dislike....just wondering...the song is still catchy to me...
"Don't trust a ho/Never trust a ho/Won't trust a ho/Won't trust me.
ReplyDeleteShush girl shut your lips/Do the Hellen Keller and talk with your hips."
While I do find the song to be very catchy (caught myself singing it a few times), I still find it very demeaning and offensive.
The term "ho" in reference to women is thrown around rather loosely in music, but it's still an extremely disrespectful term. Whether it's in hip-hop, rock and roll, r&b, etc., it's offensive! The genre or a catchy tune should in no way be an excuse for one to disrespect a whole group of people.
THanks I feel you. Just rock and roll makes it cool to say things like that u know!
ReplyDeleteIt is offensive and degrading but hip hop has this negative connotation behind things! ANd it may be a color thing too...but I may be wrong!
