Opening for acts like Common and Kid Cudi, Shay J, has been rapping for the better part of the past decade. His music reached the next level when he connected with his producer Meni Faces (pronounced: ‘many faces') a producer out of Shay J's hometown, West Palm Beach. The two began recording random tracks together in Menifasis' home studio when Shay J was still in high school. Receiving critical acclaim for his debut album solo album, "Lost in a Vast Abyss of Hip-Hop," is actually a collection of the work he has done with Menifasis that spans as far back as when they first met. The time Shay J puts into his lyrics is immediately evident, as it is driven by heartfelt, honest lyrics that come at you with authority. His new song, titled "Smooth Sailing" (Prod. by Meni Faces) is an introspective look in Shay J's thoughts as a self-prophesied vision of his future in correlation with witnessing his present-day growth.
