Hari Kari

Sooo...I wanna thank Chris Brown because if he never made the reference to "Hari Kari" in his song "Look at me Now" (OH) because then I would not have looked up what the hell a hari kari was....SO...I wanna thank answers.com who gave me this info. But according to @MrSneakaHead its a phrase used in the MANGAS. But yea...thanks CBreezy!

Hari kari, also known as sepuku, is an ancient form of ritual suicide that defeated samurai, or those whose shame was 'too unbearable' would use to restore their honor in death. In sepuku, one would take a wakizashi (short sword) and dissembowel oneself. The less noise you made while doing this, the braver you were and therefore the more honorable, however this did not last long as not long after you had begun, a close friend, comrade, or enemy would put you out of your misery by cleaving your head from your shoulders in one swift blow of the katana (another japanese sword). Even though in modern times the prospect of decapitating one of your friends or relatives sounds completely against normal 'friendly' behavior, being asked to asist your friend or enemies' escape from shame was considered a great honor, as was using this as a tool to escape. This is why the in the imperialistic wars that followed japan's modernisation post Admiral Perry's opening of it in 1853 to the west, the Japanese had no concept of the POW, as they believed that a combatant should either fight to the last breath, or if captured, die 'honorably' in ritual suicide, known as hari kari or sepuku. A good example of this ritual can be found in Tom Cruise's movie "the last samurai"

Secrets to a Successful Relationship

Was reading a book called "Secrets to a Successful Relationship" and it was like a mini interview type of session and these points were given to people who are looking or wanting to know what are the secrets to a successful relationship.

Here is how we defeat ourself? Negative Self-talk.

We ask questions that point us to what we dont want.
1. Why cant I get a commitment
2. Why do I attract losers
3. Whats wrong with me/them

The book said this is as well and this touched me: Life gives you exactly what you ask for

What you really want to ask...
1. How can I start attracting winners
2. Whats great about me
3. What am I doing right?
4. What am I grateful for?
5. How can I be more committed to myself?
6. How can i love myself more?

A few more things...
1. Every relationship you have reflects a relationship you have with yourself.
2. This couple in this book decided that they would never curse/name calling AT each other in the relationship.
3. Dont let misunderstanding crush a relationship. Work out every conflict and get down to what the problem is. No matter how little or how large.

and a whole other bunch of stuff...who cares right...relationships are everything. Its life. whether friendship, family, boyfriend/girlfriend it all has some weight and can all apply. Aight im done.

Morning Thoughts...

Mind you since my thoughts are all over the place. They wont be complete..

Thought #1:
Woke up this morning with thoughts of a few things. I wont go into to much ranting and popping off but I figured I would mention some things. As I listen to XV's "Fall Out the Sky" I think about how much people are trying to tell YOU (or ME) what to do with your life. When you should love. When you should show emotion. When you should run/jump/crawl and such. Everyones so busy putting up walls and closing people outta their lives. With good reason of course ya know. We see other people get hurt and try to make sure we dont make mistakes like our friends, family, passerby's and such. But whatever people are stupid.

Thought #2
Still got dreams of being an entertainer of some sort. Just imagining myself in that popular sitcom. Or just on the big screen acting a complete fool. My joy of making others laugh till they cry or just to make people think or just showing that someone who is a celebrity is human. I dont feel like there are to many humans in the industry believe it or not. Everyones a drone. Just going with the motions. but whatever. Funny thing I am actually very shy lol. No one ever believes me when I say it.

Thought #3
I have a lot of friends. I value these friends because they are kind of like my family due to my lack their of. And in some cases it may be my fault but no one else is trying either (a whole another story). I realize that we as people/students/etc make excuses for damn near everything. Like its ridiculous how many excuses get made a day. And then people want to say "its not an excuse its the truth." Riitee...But then these people who make these excuses so frequently hate when people make excuses. Ha. Ironies of life.

Thought #4
Why everyone feel like they know me? They actually know nothing remotely close about my life. People may think I put out a lot of my life but I really dont. But hey. Keep thinking ya know.

Thought #5
this past year I have done a lot of reconstruction. Reading and trying to grow and just make myself better. Better as a black man/man/friend/brother/familyguy/rapper/entertainer whatever you want to call it. I just hate when people say "they are working on themselves and really are not improving at all. People think working on yourself is like being single for an extended period of time. FALSE. Just simple things like "I feel like im not confident enough?" so then you work on public speaking or speaking to yourself in the mirror or something ya know. But whatever. Common sense aint common either.

Thought #6
People need to stop telling me im too young. I been hearing that since I was like 16 im 23 now going on 24...in another year or so its gon be like "damn you grown and you still dont got yo shit together." All the same people who said kick it back you got time, live life, do you will be the same people laughing and pointing when you 26 and a still "smashing hoes" or being an "independent" black woman. I been working on my self in thought 5 as you see to become a better man for whatever young lady I get with. So whatever. and I say it now next person I get with im going in for the long haul. Not no quick "lets see where this goes" type of thing. We cant continue to play ourselves. And end up 35, great job/decent job and then looking back at the opportunities WE SHOULD HAVE taken. At least me imma live out all the things I want to do so that I cant look back and say "damn, I regret not doing that" or "man I wish I woulda said something." but yea....thoughts upon thoughts upon thoughts...

You ever gotta just ask this question to yourself? Do you ever have think like damn I need some new friends? or you might be saying I got the best friends a guy/gal could possibly have!

Also, female groups of the 90's were very edgy dont you agree? But then again they had a lot they were overcoming in the 90's. I think (a random thought in a thought)...lol! Ahh well...I miss Lisa actually its crazy...RIP...

Listening to these songs sadden me music just is not that feel good music any more like back in the day. Everything is a hit and then on to the next. Ahh well...

Random Thought: The Key to life...

My homegirl Kish Platter brought it up a few months ago and said "its crazy how we no longer want money, power and respect but rather cars clothes and hoes." And for some reason that comment came back to my head and I was like damn! Thats crazy how this new age which I am included in just does not have that "money, power, respect" drive anymore. Ahh well I guess...And trust me I could be wrong but its just my thoughts...And im out....have we forgotten the key to life or are we find with just finding some random back door?

Random Thought: Are Women Always in Fantasy Land?

So I mean the thought says it all...I feel like its not all women but there are a large number of women living in this fantasy land expecting prince charming to come in on this horse drawn chariot and slide that glass slipper on their foot and whisk them off into the warm captivating summer air. And yes man have fantasies to but we know ours will not come true lol! And usually it just involves sex with a famous female athlete/star/breezy somewhere we do not let it cloud our lives lol! Well, some of us not all lol! but yea...thats my random thought of the day. What are your thoughts? cause todays society makes it real easy to fall into this "fanstasy world" trap!

Random Thought: Music Is My Life

So I have realized that I listen to more music than I watch TV and I really do not know what I would do without some type of music in my day. I listen everything from hip hop to classical to techno to Jazz even music in other languages and such. But yea...random thought of the day!

Random Thought: What Guy Cuddles?

So my thought process after watching tv and seeing steve harvey on the tyra show is that guys dont really cuddle. UNLESS, you are his MAIN! and even then sometimes we just be tired that "RELEASE" is quite draining its like having "Rogue" come out and touch us as soon as we about to..well you know lol! Well there is my random thought of the day...

PLUS: I DONT REALLY LIKE TO CUDDLE CAUSE CHICKS HEADS GET HEAVY AND MY ARM BE GOING NUMB! #POW
