Jay Z- D.O.A (Death of Auto Tune)

The only rapper to re write history without a pen, no i.d on the track let the story begin...

Well, well, Jigga you done really did it with this one!! Death of Autotune huh, well, I to can say I am a bit fed up with all this T-Paining that has been going around in the past two years or so. A few artist have lost themselves with autotunes but thats an entirely different blog topic.

My question is...do you think Jay-Z could really put the game in a kung fu action figure grip to make people stop listening to artist that are resembling T-Pain like remnants. He also proclaims how he could just bring a bunch of trends about just because he is "him" (versace shades, wearing all black etc.)does that make sense. Is Jay-Z that powerful in the game?!?! Slickly he calls out the skinny pants, bright colored wearing fads as well. Will this cause a loosening up in the jeans and back to the good ol just being fly and rocking the baggie jeans which was around for decades (at least in the eyes of hip hop videos). I mean when Jay-Z started "Changing Clothes" I literally seen black tees turn into button ups and Jerseys vanish within a year span...I remember after Jordan got crossed by Iverson they banned the move from the game. And if you see rappers starting to grow there hair out and not combing it...then I guess, you could think the man behind Def Jam for that...But, is the man that has come back with the 4-5 to aim at the rap game really that dope to make a trend (autotuning) a fad or a thing of the past. Hmmm...Let me look through my book of rhymes and ponder this for a second...If you dont get the rap references you suck...FYI...damn, that might have offended my political connects...AHHH!!

But, maybe this is how he feels about the game and I guess you can not be mad at his opinion. And people may call him hypocritical as I was going to at first because he was on the remix to "Go Hard" and his very own artist Kanyeezy is a AUTO-TUNE fanatic. But, maybe he is at the point where he is tired of rappers using it now because it is getting a bit out of hand. And it may not be a direct attack but maybe a warning. Who knows...A warning, from the indirect Hip Hop Police Officer.

Think we got a problem houston...Critics would say this track is bad for business and you may lose out on the feelings you have hurt with this track. But, isn't drama the best promotion for album sales?!?!? Ahhh, I thought so. Maybe, Jigga Man (who) just had an Epiphany...who knows...And I am sure Blueprint 3 will still hit a few times platinum regardless of the controversial track. And I mean a lot of artist has picked on to the trend (wayne, I read somewhere saigon was on that tip for a single, even gorilla zoe) and they just wanna make money like everyone else ya know. But, people are really just butchering the auto tunes and it does not even sound good anymore. Random Note: that new gorilla zoe song is horrible by the way. I guess that was an assault with a deadly weapon. Oh well, stop ya blood claut crying...AHHH!!

I will say that this song is pretty dope none the less. And I am looking forward to the Blueprint 3(Rappers be recycling album names heavy these days) and Jay-Z is really just speaking for the millions of people that are fed up with the extra effects in the studio. Maybe, this is a wake up call for artist everywhere who has been slacking and depending on studio magic to really take them to the stars. Then again, when Ja Rule listened to 50 cent he just became an unimportant figure in the rap world when he was making BOOKU money...And no, I do not know how booku is spelled so sue me...Well, maybe that was different, but whatever...

Now, the question is how will T-Pain react to this track? Will he even care? Will he take offense? Put out a diss track? that would be oddly interesting...I mean he is a rapper turned singer, maybe he will travel back in time and become the singer gon rapper because of this track. T-Pain has created this new feel to the game and has been on more HOOOKS than a FISHERMAN so we will see what happens as this album drops and this song goes through the radio's and satellite transmissions. I agree though with Jay when he says "I know we in a recession but the music they making is going to take us into the great depression." And on that note...Im out like 3 strikes! Peace!

Speak your thoughts on the whole auto tune stuff, the rap games current state, and if you agree or disagree with the song or not...Is Jay-Z just a hypocrite or it not his fault that he has to fall into the politics of the rap game as we all know HEAVILY EXISTS...whatever it is...Drop Your thoughts and you can click the name of the song----->Death Of Autotune fyi this song has over 50, 000 downloads on this one Z Share link alone...CRAZY!!

  1. Jay-Z did come hard on this joint. I found most entertaining how many people were hyping this song up, then chanting "death of autotune" knowing damn well they be killin T-Pain. Its cool though lol

Personally, I don't have a problem with autotune. Yea, a lot of people hopped on the bandwagon, but so long as the music is entertaining I don't have a problem. It my ears are pleased, I'm pleased haha.

  2. First, i dont think t-pain will be offended because i dont feel like it was aimed at RnB dudes and t-pain didnt debut as a rapper. I think he used T-Pains name to emphasize that T-Pain birthed the auto-tune revolution. Wayne is really the one who showed that it was OK to suck at what your doing and still get love and be accepted by the masses. I think that dj's respect Jay enough to front like they aint BEEN spinnin them joints and STOP spinnin em. I'm praying to GOD that Jay kills autotune.

  3. I feel you! I bump T-Pain because he is a great artist. Its just all these other kats using this style like its normal is not cool. There are a few lil wayne tracks I can not bump because he uses that T Pain effect on his voice. It urks me...I almost did not like Put On by Kanye because of that auto tune stuff...but then I had to relisten to the verse lol!

  4. Autotune is tricky. Its not even that it isn't made for every artist, but its not made for every track. Because Lil Wayne sounds HORRIBLE with autotune, but at the same time... See You In My Nightmares??? I don't care what anyone says. You do not have to like autotune or the song, but you cannot say Lil Wayne didn't sound good on that track.

So yea, autotune just has to be used correctly.

  5. It's what eva....HOV just wanted to stand out above the crowd as always to establish himself once as the God MC J HOVA...And he did it the only way he knew how, address how he feels...lol

  6. I don't think T-pain should take too much offense. He was kinda the one that came out with it first, and made it popular...and I doubt he'd sound good without it. But I can def. say that I for one was getting extremely tired of auto-tune. I mean, I liked Heartbreaks and 808s (Kanye), but every damn song on auto tune with him singing? Seriously? Like, get back to the rapping already! And literally almost every song on the radio has some type of auto-tune sound to it. It works for some songs/artists, but people don't need to abuse the trend.
