Mr. or Mrs. Just Wright
Well can I say this was a another successful black film?!??! ehhhh??!?!?
Well, yea...I will give it the 2 thumbs up, Ebert and Ropert! lol! I mean it was a typical black film, I know I know almost a brown sugar and love and basketball hybrid but I guess thats what it needed to be Just Wright...get it?!?! Ahhh (commence knee slapping)
Before I talk about the movie or what not I will point out a few eyebrow raising or worth commenting issues that may have come up during the movie...
"Beckys Taking our Black Men"
"Miss Huxtable so fine..."
"Retail Therapy: The death of the black mans wallet"
"How to get a man"
"The girl of your dreams may not be the girl for you"
Uh...what else...hmm...(grabs chin)... A black mans Pride...Ugly Girl Syndrome...Being a Regular Girl...etc etc
So this movie...For me it was inspirational just because I want to be a Physical Therapist and it made me just envy the character of Latifah who plays as an athletic trainer/Physical therapist...But, outside of my personal issues it was a great love story and it just made me think about how "Love really does conquer All" like, I know life isnt a movie but Love can really make everything all the more worth it. And da kid common actually gets a starring role and not just a couple bars if you feel what Im saying. He plays as a basketball player for the Nets who gets injured and his career is on the line now that he is no longer the "Star Player."
So yea, I wont really give away too much more than that but it is still a good movie to take a date with or just to go kick it with a group of your friends and sit up and have some good laughs for about an hour and change. I wont put Commons acting on the great black rappers that are actors list as of yet (Luda and Mos Def to name a few)
But who is that Mr. Just Wright or Ms Wright for that matter!?!?!? The age old question...men and women sometimes we just put soooo much into the concept of relationships and it sucks because as you get older the PRESSURES of being lonely or not PROCREATING (for women) and "I do not wanna be too old to not play Football with my kid" is really what comes up for a lot of men and women. And this movie certainly does not make it easy for men once again as it will throw women on Cloud Eight...its not quite cloud Nine because thats having everything go your way when your on Cloud Nine when your on Cloud Eight your watching everyone else have the fun that you want to have lol!
When will ever find that person who is "Just Wright" who knows...but we dont have a lot of time believe it or not...even though everyone is always saying "your young yyou will find somehting" Our youth flashes by very quickly and then we become old and without someone to love us. Its the age old question and I am sure will come up some more in my blogspot so I wont beat the dead horse...
But what are your thoughts on the movie?
Any of the topics listed or discussed?
and whatever else that comes to your mind!
Deuces!
PS: its late so if there are any errors MY BAD! LOL! Alright Yall Good Night/Good Morning/Good Evening depending on when you get to this lol!

Also, movies like this do not make you feel better about your state of being single....every woman who sees this and is lonely probably all will now be kinda in a state of "want" as all people of course, but these movies do not help the world of being in relationships and marriages and such. But good read none the less.
