The Ecstatic is the fourth studio album by American hip hop artist Mos Def, released June 9, 2009 on Downtown Records in the United States. It features several diverse musical styles, including soul, Afrobeat, jazz, funk, and Latin music, and has been noted by music writers for its "out-of-the-crates" samples. The Ecstatic debuted at number 9 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, making it Mos Def's second highest charting record to date.
