A Whole New World: Starting Massage Therapy

So on wednesday I am hoping to start massage school and be on my journey to become a massage therapist. So, the question may be where did this random thought come from in regards to do massage therapy and you might be saying "wasn't you a applied something and something ology major" (trust, I have some people royally mess my major up)? Yes, and I always had thoughts of becoming one but it was a goal that I set for myself for after completing my undergrad degree.

It started when I was younger and my mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer when I was about in the fifth grade and I think it may have been longer but my mother tried to hide it from me for a good minute. Well, after chemotherapy treatments she would always say (Jamaican accent) "come give mommy a massage" and of course I would do it and she would always say "your gonna make some young lady really happy" and I, being very young and not understanding the concept of girls and stuff replied with "no I am not mommy your the only girl I am doing this for!" It was great knowing that I could help my mother feel better with my lil old hands and crawling all on her back lol! And as I got older I learned that this was a real profession and I said to myself that would probably be fun to do but I will see how I feel after I finish college and then I will see if I reeeaaaallllyy want to do that or is it just a fad for now.

But, 10 years plus or so later I realize that it is something I still want to do! So what happen to my physical therapy school stuff and working for the cirque du soleil and stuff??!?! Oh, well, that goal is still in the works it will just be another journey to get there. I am actually using massage therapy as a stepping stone to go into physical therapy and it will add something on to my many attributes of why I should be accepted into someones PT program. Thats the new mission. But that discussion of what I need to do for that will come later lol!

Ne who...I start school wednesday and yea please get at me if you are looking for a massage or have been aching and stuff I need 25 clients outside of my program before the semester is up so please support the kid! and I should be ordering my massage chair tomorrow and already have my massage table equipped already! #POW and I digress...now, they just gotta get my paper work straight so I can be officially enrolled and so I will be calling and visiting them tomorrow! Grr in this cold weather here in the ville...so yea for now im out! peace!
