Mr. Anatomy: You Can Use it Everywhere
This is Mr. Anatomy he is the key and the guide to become a better Massage Therapist! Everyday I have to go over these muscles and figure things out and I try to incorporate a little Anatomy into what I do and you can use my anatomy EVERYWHERE!!!
For Example,
I walk up to the line at the club and see another young lady in front of me. hands on her hip, purse in hand, High heels on, with one of those dresses on that has no straps (if you can picture that) and high heels! So, how the hell can I put Anatomy in this situation...well...
I can see her scapulas (shoulder blades) protracting, and of course her traps were not engaged but I know they run from the cervical (neck) area all the way down to the middle of her back. I also know that in the back area you have the Erector Spinae, Transverse Abdominis if I am correct (imagine a belt around your waist) her Lats and then looking past her Gluteus Maximus and down to her Gastrocs (Calfs) which are very defined because of the high heels acting as an incline and showing the muscle belly of the calf. Underneath her gastroc is the soleus and that little area is also knowns as the tricpes surae. In the back of the knee her popliteal and so on and so forth! So yea, you basically get what I am saying!
Mr. Anatomy is always working no matter where you may go! Call me a nerd if you want...but how would you feel if you asked your massage therapist why this XYZ area hurt and he was like "I dont even know what that area is...Im sorry" that is what I call an #EPICFAIL
